Miami Heat News
  •   With LeBron, Wade hitting stride, Heat might be better off without Bosh

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are superb again, and the Heat are headed to the East finals. Gregg Doyel says now that his team has been eliminated, Frank Vogel feels free to say the Heat are better off without Chris Bosh.

  •   Miami Heat Eliminate the Pacers in Game 6: Fan Reaction (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

This is what champions do. They take a punch from valiant opponents, overcome injuries and suspensions, and close out series on the road. The Boston Celtics were unable to do the same on Wednesday, but on Thursday, the Miami Heat defeated the Indiana Pacers 105-93 in Game 6 to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. Their performance on Thursday allayed my concerns that the 2012 Heat aren't mentally tough enough to finish off quality opponents.

  •   Dwyane Wade’s hot pink pants: The kind of thing you can get away with when you drop 41 (Ball Don't Lie)

What is that, Dwyane Wade? Is that fuchsia? That's nice. Coming off back-to-back excellent performances, the star Miami Heat guard entered Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Thursday night intent on making a statement in Game 6 by putting away the Indiana Pacers in dominating fashion ... an intent he declared with some dominating fashion that stunned even teammate and noted fashionplate LeBron James before the game, according to ESPN's Rachel Nichols : LeBron: "Damn, for real, those are closeout pants? And the finger sleeve?" Wade: "You gotta coordinate." LeBron: "You look like Eddie Murphy in the '80s." Wade: "Eddie Murphy wishes he looked like me." I mean, especially now . It's not a bad goof by LeBron — the simple combination of words "Eddie Murphy in the '80s" is a pretty can't-miss laugh-inducer — but strictly speaking, assuming James is referring to the bright leather suits Murphy rocked for "Delirious" and "Raw," it's not quite accurate. What Wade brought to the arena was actually more of a Chad Johnson/Ochocinco or John Daly look, when you get right down to it, with maybe a bit of "Nashville Star" winner Chris Young thrown in, via that wrist bandana (obviously). If anything, Present-Day Eddie Murphy kind of has more of a Russell Westbrook thing going on, really.

  •   Lamar Odom to New York? Dwight Howard on the move? For now, it’s all talk (Ball Don't Lie)

Lamar Odom, master of his destiny and not at all a creature of habit and/or willing participant in whatever the heck Khloe Kardashian/E! Network/Ryan Seacrest Productions tell him to do, might want to play for the New York Knicks in 2012-13 and beyond. Dwight Howard, ruler of worlds, might be as good as gone from Orlando this summer, because the Magic's ownership group appears to have soured on dealing with the guy . Both rumors make plenty of sense, in basketball terms and in consideration of the respective players' personality, and history. Odom is from New York, cannot stand playing outside of major markets, and is ultra-sensitive who he runs with and under what circumstances. Howard, a year and a half removed from beginning to turn down contract extensions from the Orlando Magic, should have worn out his welcome with the team by now, and it makes sense for Orlando to have decided to move on. But, even in late May and just five weeks removed from the official start of the offseason, is any of this worth leaning on? Come on, guy.

The Miami Heat is a professional basketball team based in Miami Florida. The Heat were formed in 1988 as an expansion franchise. Since the formation of the team they have made the playoffs 13/21 seasons and captured seven division titles. The Miami Heat won the 2006 NBA finals against the Dallas Mavericks 4-2. The team is currently managed by Pat Riley, the NBA Hall of Fame former Los Angeles Lakers coach. The team is owned by Micky Arison and coached by Erik Spoelstra. 2004-2008 marked the Wade/Shaq era. 2006 proved to be a great year for the Miami Heat. Many criticized the team are being unable to beat the top caliber teams in the NBA. They lost to the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs twice and or crushed in a nationally televised broadcast by 36 points by the Dallas Mavericks. The Heat would go on to meet the Mavericks for the NBA finals. They lost the first two games of the series and in a dramatic comeback went on to win the next two games. Game five was one by the Heat in overtime and they went on to win their first NBA championship in game six which was played in Dallas. Shaquille O'Neal, Alonzo Mourning and Dwayne Wade played dramatic roles in the NBA championship.
2006-07 was a disappointing season but in 2007-08 the Miami Heat had the worst record in the NBA. The 2010-11 season finds the Miami Heat in the playoffs again. Dwayne Wade and Lebron James lead the team in another hope for a second NBA championship title.
